Damit ist dieses Edge TPU Modul besonders gut für mobile und embedded Systeme geeignet, die von beschleunigtem maschinellen Lernen profitieren können.

Jeder Edge TPU Koprozessor ist fähig 4 Billionen Rechenoperationen pro Sekunde (4 TOPS) mit 2 Watt Leistungsaufnahme, auszuführen. Beispielsweise können moderne Mobile Vision Modelle wie MobileNet v2 bei nahezu 400 FPS effizient ausgeführt werden.

Mit zwei Edge TPUs (und damit 8 TOPS) können Sie die Leistungsfähigkeit des Systems verdoppeln - indem Sie beispielsweise zwei Modelle parallel laufen lassen, oder die Verarbeitungsschritte eines Modells auf beide Edge TPUs verteilen.

Der M.2 Accelerator mit Dual Edge TPU wird unter Debian-Linux basierten Systemen, sowie unter Windows 10 unterstützt.

Wir führen auch den Coral USB Accelerator - um Systeme die keine M.2 Schnittstelle anbieten per USB 3.0 Interface nachrüsten zu können.

Wichtige Hinweise:

Obwohl die M.2 Spezifikation erfordert dass E-key Sockets zwei mal PCIe x1 Lane bereitstellen, stellen die meisten Hersteller nur einmal PCIe bereit! Um beide Edge TPUs einsetzen zu können, stellen Sie bitte sicher dass Ihr Socket tatsächlich zwei mal PCIe x1 bereitstellt.

Bitte beachten Sie auch die Ausführungen des Datenblatts zu Spitzenstrom-Anforderungen (bis zu 3 A pro EdgeTPU), sowie Wärmemanagement (Thermal Management). Jede Edge TPU enthält einen eingebauten Temperatursensor, und erlaubt Parameter zu konfigurieren wann sie abgeschaltet werden soll.

The Coral M.2 Accelerator with Dual Edge TPU integrates two Edge TPUs into existing computer systems using an M.2 E-key interface.

This Edge TPU module is particularly well-suited for mobile and embedded systems that can benefit from accelerated machine learning.

Each Edge TPU coprocessor is capable of performing 4 trillion operations per second (4 TOPS) with a power consumption of 2 watts. For example, modern mobile vision models like MobileNet v2 can be efficiently run at nearly 400 FPS.

With two Edge TPUs (and thus 8 TOPS), you can double the system's performance—either by running two models in parallel or by distributing the processing steps of a model across both Edge TPUs.

The M.2 Accelerator with Dual Edge TPU is supported on Debian-based Linux systems as well as Windows 10.

We also offer the Coral USB Accelerator to retrofit systems that do not provide an M.2 interface via USB 3.0.

Important Notes:

Although the M.2 specification requires E-key sockets to provide two PCIe x1 lanes, most manufacturers only provide one! To utilize both Edge TPUs, please ensure your socket actually provides two PCIe x1 lanes.
Also refer to the datasheet regarding peak current requirements (up to 3 A per Edge TPU) and thermal management. Each Edge TPU contains a built-in temperature sensor, allowing you to configure parameters for when it should shut down.
