The official Raspberry Pi NVMe SSD is specifically designed for maximum performance and reliability when it comes to I/O-intensive applications with the Raspberry Pi 5 and compatible systems. Thanks to its PCIe Gen 3 interface and NVMe 1.4 specification, this SSD offers noticeably faster boot times, quicker data access, and significantly improved responsiveness compared to traditional microSD storage or USB solutions. The SSD is available in three capacities : 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB – allowing you to perfectly match the storage to your needs.
With an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C (ambient) , it is ideal for industrial applications under moderate environmental conditions. A Raspberry Pi 5 compatible M.2 adapter is required, such as the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ , which is sold separately. Production is guaranteed until at least January 2032, providing planning security even for long-term projects.
The NVMe SSD delivers impressive IOPS values for 4 kB random reads and writes: for example, approximately 40,000/70,000 for 256 GB, approximately 50,000/90,000 for 512 GB, and even higher values for 1 TB. Its compact M.2 2230 form factor (approximately 22 mm × 30 mm) allows it to fit into even the most compact enclosures and systems.
