The Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 (5-inch portrait) is the latest official touch screen option from Raspberry Pi – ideal for compact, interactive installations with full plug-and-play convenience.

The 5-inch IPS screen offers a crisp 720 × 1280 pixel resolution (24-bit RGB) with five-finger multi-touch support and an on-screen keyboard. Thanks to its compact dimensions (active area approximately 62 × 110 mm) and anti-glare surface, the display is perfectly suited for embedded applications – from industrial dashboards to automation and smart home controls.

The connection to the Raspberry Pi is established via the MIPI DSI port using a ribbon cable, and power is supplied directly via the 40-pin GPIO header – without any additional driver configuration or calibration required. Developers benefit from high reusability: the same software runs on both the 7-inch and the new, smaller 5-inch versions.

Raspberry Pi guarantees production continuity until at least January 2030. With an attractive entry-level price, the 5-inch version offers excellent value compared to the larger model. The Touch Display 2 series currently includes two variants:

• 5-inch portrait – more compact format (active area approx. 62 × 110 mm), 80° viewing angle , 720 × 1280 resolution, anti-glare. Higher pixel density, ideal for space-saving applications.

• 7-inch Landscape – larger display area (active area approx. 154 × 87 mm), 85° viewing angle , same resolution and features, another option for classic tablet projects.
